Change is happening!
We’re moving from NaturalistWeekly.com to SeasonWords.com.
This name change embodies our commitment to celebrating nature’s beauty, rhythm, and poetry in every season. When we started NaturalistWeekly.com, the goal was to document changes in the natural world with a focus on science and research. Now, we’re rebranding to SeasonWords.com, a name that captures this site’s evolving focus on the seasons and haiku.
Why SeasonWords.com?
Season words are those words that harness the essence of the seasons. In haiku, the kigo, or season word, plays a crucial role in setting the scene and grounding the poem in a specific time of year. Season words encourage us to notice the changes and connect to the world around us.
So, what does this mean for you?
I hope not a lot. SeasonWords.com will continue to serve as a place where poets and writers can explore the seasons and share poems inspired by seasonal elements. However, there will be a new domain to bookmark and a new name associated with the weekly posts. I will also be spending the next couple of days getting all the linked accounts switched over (IG, Email, Bookstore). We will see how that goes.

Hi Ashley, I think the big move is done. Easy! Now its all the little things. You shouldn’t have to change anything as the all the content and back of the house stuff stays the same.
On the email notification the new website is highlighted as being “suspicious”. Will have to look into that one! Maybe I need to unsubscribe & re-subscribe!?
Hmmm. I wonder why that is. I am not sure how or why things get caught in spam filters and why others don’t. I’ll ask the WordPress people and see what they say.

Wonderful new name and direction, Mark. You gave Tanka Tuesday.com new life this year with the 24 Seasons of Japan. We’ve been using kigo season words for inspiration in writing 24 different forms. Thanks for the inspiration! I’m hoping everyone will get so used to using kigo words that they will never forget to use one in a haiku or haibun ever again. LOL! Congratulations!
