The micro-season of “Hot Wind Blows” begins on July 07. This is the first micro-season of the season Minor Heat. To celebrate this season, we will learn about prevailing winds and read haiku by Basho, Issa, Buson, Shiki, and Reichhold.

On July 01 we will enter the micro-season of “The Crow-dipper Sprouts”. This is the third micro-season of the season Summer Solstice. To celebrate this season, we will learn about plants in the Araceae family and then read haiku by Basho, Shiki, Buson, Issa, and Reichhold.

On June 26th we will enter the micro-season of “The Iris Flowers”. This is the second micro-season of the season called Summer Solstice. To celebrate this season, we will learn about the iris and then read haiku by Basho, Issa, Shiki, and Ogawa Shushiki.
Micro-Season: “The Plums Turn Yellow” (2023)
We have entered the micro-season of “The Plums Turn Yellow”. To celebrate this season we will learn about the Japanese Flowering Plum (Prunus mume) and then read haiku by Basho, Issa, Jane Reichhold, and Jack Kerouac.
